I have be...I have witnessed such things first hand. I have been on a mission to tell people about an indie movie I support called "Gamers." Ok, so the subject matter is not for everyone. It's about 4 guys and their 23 year journey playing Dungeons and Dragons. It's a comedy and I loved it because my boyfriend is a gamer. I know what a hard time independent movies have, so I e-mailed literally hundreds of game/comic shops all over the country to see if anyone would take interest. Most just didn't respond. Two are selling it now based on my plea and then some were down right nasty. It bothered me enough to write them back and tell them to shove it. That really made me no better than them. I should have let it go, but I couldn't. I guess I figured if they weren't interested in the movie, all they had to do was delete the e-mail, but they didn't. They bashed my character and called me some unrepeatable names. It was just very unnecessary to me. I have learned not to take it so personally, it's just that some people just like to go off on whoever is there at the time. I for one love the column. I believe that keeping it light and fun is just what people out there need. I don't watch the news because it is too depressing. I'm well aware of what is going on out there and it sucks. Your column makes me laugh and smile and it is great for me.
Love ya Mayrav,
Nikki
Nikki Zalewskinoreply@blogger.com
